Sealy-Doo, Where Are You?


Join Sealy-Doo and the gang in The Halloween Machine for Halloweekends at Ocean Lakes during any of our Halloweekends! Our 2019 Halloweekends include October 11 - 12, October 18 – 19, and October 25 – 26.  


Halloween At Ocean Lakes | Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year at Ocean Lakes. Everyone in the campground decorates and joins in on all the weekend festivities. For many families, Halloweekends at Ocean Lakes have become an annual family tradition! Bring your candy bag and a pumpkin – It is a treat for everyone!

Schedule of Events | Friday’s events include: Family Ceramics 1 and 2 at 9:15 AM and 12:15 PM. Beachside Movie (Scooby-Doo) at 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM.

Saturday’s Events | Pumpkin Carving/Painting/Decorating Contest at 9 AM and 12 PM, Family Fun Festival from 9 AM – 11 AM, Pet Costume Contest at 12 PM, Family Costume Contest at 1 PM, Trick or Treating from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Creepy Site Crawl at 6:30 PM, and the Monster Mash Ball at 7 PM.

Where | Throughout the Campground 

How Much Candy Should I Bring? | Simply put, you can never have enough. Halloweekends bring out lots of characters for trick or treating each Saturday. Feel free to spend as much as you feel comfortable with on candy.

Handing Out Candy? | Stop by the Recreation Office before 2 PM Saturday to sign up. You will get a distinctive Halloween sign to put at your site.

Going Trick or Treating? | The annual tradition starts at 4:30 PM each Saturday. Swing by the Recreation Office at 4 PM that day to pick up the list of treat-friendly sites.

Souvenirs | Take home a souvenir that will last longer than your Halloween candy. All items are available in the Recreation Center.

T-Shirts | Do not leave without your official “Sealy-Doo, Where Are You?” 2019 T-Shirt. They will feature Sealy-Doo on the front and Sealy-Doo, Shaggy Star, Freddie Star, Velma Star, and Daphne Star with The Halloween Machine on the back. Adult sizes are $20, $22 for XXL and XXXXL, and kids’ sizes are $18.


Pre-Order T-Shirts | Guests can pre-order their t-shirt and it will be ready for pick-up upon arrival! The online order deadline is Monday, September 23rd.

T-Shirt Disclaimer | We are not selling Adult XXXL t-shirts. There is only a one-inch difference in the XXXL and XXXXL t-shirts, so we recommend purchasing a XXXXL t-shirt.

Cups | The cups this year will have a rainbow effect and will feature Sealy-Doo on one side and Shaggy Star with a sandwich on the other side! Cups are $3 each. 


Bags | Jinkies, did you forget your bag for trick or treating? Pick up one for FREE at the Recreation Office!

Remember Family-Friendly | Our guests go all out with their Halloween decorations and costumes – We love that – Just remember that Halloweekends are focused on families. Be creative, keep it clean. Be scary, but not so much that you would make a little one cry.

Safety and Security Policies | Masks and face coverings are only permitted to be worn in Ocean Lakes for the 3 Halloweekends (on Fridays and Saturdays). They cannot be worn in our businesses (Sandy Mart, RV Center, Golf Cars, Main Office, Ocean Lakes Properties, Sandy Harbor) except during Trick or Treating on Saturdays from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. They are generally permitted in the Recreation Center, as it is the hub of our Halloweekend events and costume contests.

Operating a vehicle or golf car with a mask or face covering is NOT permitted as it is a safety issue and also hinders Security in identifying underage drivers. Security Teammates will use discretion on a case by case basis as needed throughout Halloweekends regarding masks, coverings, costumes and decorations.

South Gate | Our South Gate will be open to help all the Halloween revelers get in as quick as possible to start having fun! The South Gate will be open 7 AM to 11 PM each Friday and Saturday and 7 AM to 3 PM on Sundays through October.

No Outside Characters Allowed | Our Halloweekend activities are only for guests staying at Ocean Lakes and our annual lease site holders.

Over the years, golf cars have become the main source of transportation around the campground. They are fun, simple, and convenient, so naturally, they are popular.
