Educating Guests On Ocean Lakes’ Golf Car Policies and SC State Laws

We get it, you are on vacation, so taking the time to read the golf car policies does not always happen. However, by not reading them, you are putting you and your family at risk of receiving an Ocean Lakes fine or a ticket from SC Highway Patrol. Golf cars should never be driven on Highway 17 or Highway 544. Golf cars paths for privately-owned golf cars leaving the campground have been provided for guests to safely and legally cross Highway 17 and get to Ocean Lakes Village and other points of interest both north and south. This week on Campground Conversations, we are giving you a sneak peek into Kamp Starfish, introducing you to one of our Kamp Counselors, and showing you all the fun the Ocean Lakes kiddos are having! Meet Jolie McMenamin – She loves working with kids, is a third year Kamp Starfish Counselor, and loves playing Limbo! Cruisin’ around on a golf car in Ocean Lakes has become the main source of transportation in the campground. Getting to and from your site on 310-acres of campground is much easier when you are on a golf car.  This week, on Campground Conversations, we are talking to Paul Jones, the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Manager. He is explaining the golf car rental process and answering the frequently asked questions from guests. Meet Paul! Here’s what Paul had to say on renting a golf car from Ocean Lakes Golf Cars | The Rental Process | Golf cars can be rented upon your arrival at Ocean Lakes by any registered guest who is at least 21 years old and has a valid driver's license. Any member of your party who is at least 16 years old AND has a valid driver's license may operate the golf car. We do not rent to anyone staying outside of Ocean Lakes Family Campground. Be sure to bring your driver's license and your site number with you when renting a golf car.   Rules
