We continue to get lots of questions about when our new water park will close for the season. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we discover what works best during Sandy Harbor’s first year of operation and want to give you a peek at some of the factors that are considered when determining the water park’s fall schedule. Sandy Harbor, which debuted Memorial Day weekend, boasts a 705-foot Adventure (lazy) River, Drop Zone, The Tube, Splash Zone and other features. While most water parks along the Grand Strand shut down after Labor Day, we’ve worked hard to treat our guests by extending the season as long as we can. The water park has operated under “hours as posted” since the day after Labor Day, with the hours being set a week in advance. Many factors influence whether the water park can stay open as we head into fall - weather is just one of them. Deadline approaching! We want your photos for our 2017 Ocean Lakes calendar! March 2016 calendar photo submitted by Ida Marcum of Lexington, KY You have roughly two weeks left – deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 7 - to send us your best, high-resolution photo taken in Ocean Lakes Family Campground that embodies what Ocean Lakes is all about – “Creating family memories that last a lifetime.”  Think photos taken in Ocean Lakes of nature, events or activities, family fun or pets. But don’t just send us that generic family vacation photo that could be taken anywhere. Photos also must be high-resolution; they cannot be social media images taken for Facebook, Instagram or Twitter because those are too small for our cool, print calendar.  Your digital photo MUST be 350 dpi with a minimum overall image size of 9"x12" for print.
