Welcome to Sandy’s Coffee & Creamery | A NEW Food Venue in Ocean Lakes

Image
On Easter Sunday, guests woke up to the smell of fresh coffee and salt air - Sandy’s Coffee & Creamery, located on the beachfront, held its grand opening!  This new food option replaced Sandy’s Snack Shack, which was located beside the Observation Deck on the beachfront. The building is still there – Sandy’s Coffee & Creamery has moved in. The coffee portion is open daily from 7 AM to 11 AM. The creamery portion will open this Summer and will be open from 3 PM to 11 PM. A date has not been announced; however, we will update everyone once the ice cream starts being scooped at this location! Put Er’ There, Partner | We have partnered with Benjamin’s Bakery and Café, a local business, which has been in the Grand Strand since 1994. We are incredibly proud to partner with them to bring our guests quality treats and coffee freshly brewed daily.  Tidbit From Tonie | We asked our Food and Beverage Manager, Tonie, about the new addition: “Our Guests and Annual Lease Site Holder...

Be Prepared Before You Buy | Tips From The Ocean Lakes RV Center

Image
Camping is the way to go when it comes time for a vacation! The Jacksons developed their land into a campground because they believed that every family should be able to enjoy an oceanfront vacation. They felt that camping caters to people of all walks of life. Before you hit the road, though, there is one essential thing you will need. You will need an RV, of course! RVs are not a one size fits all purchase; there are many floor-plans and features out there. There truly is something for everyone in the RV world! You may find yourself asking where to begin or where to shop?  Follow Along - The Ocean Lakes RV Center’s Manager, Chris, provided four tips for when purchasing an RV |   The Perfect Fit | Do your homework and decide on the floor-plan that would best fit your needs. Some layouts may be more convenient for you or more spacious. It all depends on what you are looking for and how many people will be camping. Tow Check | If you plan on towing, make sure you pur...

Camping Courtesies

Image
Ahh, the weather is warming up and the sun is staying out a little longer, which means it is time to hit the beach in a camper for vacation! We remind guests to remember their beach towels and sunscreen, their car passes and golf car registration stickers. However, one thing we tend to leave out at times are camping courtesies (some things are not common knowledge).  Calling all campers, beginners and pros, let’s talk the do’s and don’ts of camping etiquette |  Quiet Hours | Most, if not all, campgrounds have set hours that ask their guests to quiet down for the night. Our Quiet Hours are from 11 PM to 7 AM . This does not make us or any campground the “fun police,” but it does allow for the campers around you to get a good night sleep. Everyone is here to relax and have a good time, and to do so, we all need our rest at the end of the day.  Turn The Volume Down | This is a big one around here, and we all know it is the truth. Yes, we all love our music and yes, music is...

Hello Summer, Hello Sandy Harbor Water Park

Image
Hello, sweet summertime! Grab the sunblock and your bathing suit - The opening of Sandy Harbor Water Park is quickly approaching! We continue to receive many questions regarding the water park's hours of operation for the 2021 season.  Let's dive on in and talk about Sandy Harbor |  Water Park | Sandy Harbor Water Park, which debuted Memorial Day Weekend in 2016, is 3-acres and boasts a 705-foot Adventure (Lazy) River, Drop Zone, The Tube, Splash Zone, as well as other cool features. Our Game Plan | We intend to have Sandy Harbor Water Park fully operational Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. During May, September, and October, we will scale back to more of an “hours as posted” operation. That may include shutting off the slides on the Drop Zone, The Tube, and Splash Zone during the week while leaving the other parts of Sandy Harbor open for guests. Treating Guests | While most water parks along the Grand Strand shut down after Labor Day, we have worked hard to treat ou...

The Scoop On This Sweet Surprise | An Ocean Lakes Announcement

The number one request we have been receiving regarding the Meet n’ Eat is to fix the long line by opening the side window for ice cream. Well, we went a step further and are adding onto the building! We sat down with Tonie Holman, our Food and Beverage Manager, to discuss this new addition |  Q | Hey, Tonie! So, let’s chat about this new addition to the Meet n’ Eat. How did this come about?  A | The purpose of this addition is efficiency and time management. How can we serve more guests and cut down on the wait time? By adding an extension to our main building, we are able to increase the number of guests we serve daily. At this new addition, we will only be serving ice cream and drinks, preventing guests from waiting in a long line if they just want ice cream and drinks. The goal is to have two lines; one for ice cream and drinks only and the other for menu items. Construction started last week, and we already have the framework completed. Once more material arrives, we wil...
