Main Gate Expansion | An Ocean Lakes Maintenance Update

Image
As many of our Guests and Annual Lease Site Holders know, we reserve the winter months as a time to complete projects throughout the campground. This past winter was no different; however, one project was not crossed off the list. With this project being essential and beneficial to all, we must move forward with the plans.  Pardon Our Dust | We are doubling the size of our Main Gate. This will provide a larger administrative area, more space to help Security monitor the campground, and assist with late arrivals.  Well Said, Cedric | The Security and Services Manager, Cedric, is excited for the expansion and hopeful for the benefits it will bring:  “The Main Gate expansion will assist Security and our guests once completed. It will allow us to speak with and access guests on the north side of the gate upon their exit. This expansion comes in preparation for having a future dispatcher that will be responsible for viewing cameras in our common areas, which gives the opport...

Shh… Time For Quiet Hours | Campground Conversation

Image
This week, on Campground Conversations, we are sitting down with our General Manager/Vice President, Lance Thompson, and our Security Manager, Cedric White, to discuss our policy on Quiet Hours. We will break down the policy for you and make a few clarifications. But Family First | We are a family campground – It is quite literally in our name – Ocean Lakes Family Campground. We strive to provide a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy and create family memories that will last a lifetime. We Are Not The Fun Police | Trust us, we know guests are here on vacation and they want to have fun. We want everyone to have a good time! But a guest’s fun should never cause trouble or ruin another family’s good time. We understand that some guests do not like our policies or agree with them. So, we will refer to a common parenting statement so many of us have heard (or have said), “While you are under my roof, you will live by my rules.” Guests on our property need to respect...

The Courtesy Patrol | Campground Conversations

Image
Nicknamed “The Courtesy Patrol” by Mr. Jackson, our Security Team is always around to help in any situation in the campground whenever you need them. This week, on Campground Conversations, we are talking to our Security Manager, Cedric! He is providing insight into our Security Team’s capabilities and training, and helping guests understand the reasoning behind a few of the Ocean Lakes Policies. Let’s get started with the conversation this week! Here is what Cedric had to say on Ocean Lakes Security | Ocean Lakes Security | The Ocean Lakes Security Team strives to provide a safe and enjoyable vacation destination for all families to enjoy. We want you to have fun and create memories that will last a lifetime. However, we expect that fun to be within our policies and guidelines. Yes, we do have a lot of policies in place, and each of those policies are in place for a reason. Keep in mind, we are a large campground and on any given day during Summertime, there is an...

Do You Hear That?

Image
As you all know, we strive to provide a safe, family-friendly environment for all guests. We want Ocean Lakes to be your happy place for the entire family for years to come. To ensure a safe, family-friendly environment, we have established policies throughout our 48 years that assist in safeguarding our values. We continue to monitor our guests' comments and contemplate ways to improve their experience at Ocean Lakes. Sadly, the biggest complaint we continue to receive is NOT about our campground or service, but about other guests’ behavior. Many guests have heralded the policy modifications that we have implemented during the last few years and we have seen guest behavior, and thus guest experiences, improve. We appreciate and value your feedback and hope you have a great vacation. We are going to touch on one main policy today, which discusses loud or vulgar music. Policy | Our policy states that there is to be no loud or vulgar music at any time...
