This year, we are taking a trip down the yellow brick road off to see the beach! So, pack your bags, load up the camper, and get to Ocean Lakes Family Campground for a Halloweekend to remember! The theme this year is The Wizard of OL! Halloween At Ocean Lakes Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year at Ocean Lakes. Everyone in the campground decorates and joins in all the weekend festivities. For many families near and far, Halloweekends have become an  annual family tradition ! Bring your candy bag and a pumpkin – It is a treat for everyone! Schedule of Events: Friday’s event includes Karaoke from 7 PM to 9 PM at Sandy’s Meet n Eat Center Stage! Saturday’s events include Pumpkin Carving/Painting/Decorating Contest at 9 AM and 12 PM, Family Fun Festival from 9 AM to 11 AM, Pet Costume Contest at 12 PM, Family Costume Contest at 1 PM, Trick or Treating from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Creepy Site Crawl at 6:30 PM, and the Monster Mash Ball at 7 PM. ...

Talk about scary. Less than a week before our first Halloweekend was set to start, Hurricane Matthew made an unwelcome visit to the Myrtle Beach area – knocking out power, tossing limbs and debris throughout the campground and leaving several inches of water in our Recreation Center – the hub of our Halloween activities. But our team snapped into action to get everything ready. Just days after the storm, the Recreation Center is cleaned up and decked out for all the Halloweekend fun kicking off today (Oct. 14). “Our team hustled all week to clean up from the storm and to get ready for an awesome Halloweekends,” said Salle Horner, Sandy Harbor and Recreational Activities Coordinator. Ocean Lakes has three Halloweekends: Oct. 14-15, Oct 21-22 and Oct. 28-29. It’s a busy time, with only a handful of campsites left those weekends.
