A Minute With Mallory | Behind-The-Scenes


Guests have come to know and love Ocean Lakes’ very own, Mallory, from A Minute With Mallory! It all started with a big idea and now twenty-five segments later, she has become quite the how-to, tip, and go-to-girl for Ocean Lakes.

This week, we are talking with Mallory to learn more about her and go behind-the-scenes of A Minute With Mallory!

Meet Mallory
Q: Hey Mallory, thanks for joining me! So, tell us a little bit about yourself!

A: Well, I’m a goof. I love to laugh and to entertain people. I have a rockin’ family, a wonderful husband and a precious Cavachon puppy named Milo. I love Jesus and attend Pine Grove Baptist in Conway, SC. Shoes and sweets are my vice (when you wear khakis everyday shoes become a big part of your wardrobe). When I’m not at work you can find me on the couch binge watching Netflix, on the ball field, or adventuring with my hubby.

Q: What exactly do you do at Ocean Lakes Family Campground? How long have you been with the company?

A: My official title is, Multimedia Communications and Design Specialist. So our marketing team of three work cohesively. We bounce ideas off of each other constantly. I do most of the photography, videography and editing. I also work with Starfish Radio and our TV channel. I print a lot of our in-house material. And of course, I do Minute with Mallory.


Q: What do you love about the campground?

A: I LOVE the ice cream. The fact that it’s steps away from the ocean isn’t so bad, either. I also love working with my friends.


Q: Let’s dig a little deeper into A Minute With Mallory. How did you come up with the concept?

A: I listen. I try to see what questions our guests are asking. In the past, managers have asked me to cover some of their hot topics or to communicate something from their department to our guests, like golf car policy or water park policy. Some weeks I need mega help, I can’t think of anything for the life of me and our team steps in and helps with ideas.


Q: What is your vision for the hit segment?

A: Well we have a couple things in the works to make it bigger and better…but I can’t give away all of my secrets. I would really like to start hearing from our guests, what do they want answered or what ideas do they have.

Q: What can viewers expect to see on the next A Minute With Mallory?

A: So now that we are approaching winter, our campground isn’t as full. That allows me to tackle bigger projects. This week we are focusing on camper storage and next week….well, you’ll just have to wait and see.

Over the years, golf cars have become the main source of transportation around the campground. They are fun, simple, and convenient, so naturally, they are popular.
