Spring has sprung here at Ocean Lakes, and it's just in time for all the Easter and spring break activities. We are so egg-cited, and we have so many fun activities planned, from having a hoppin' good time with Peter Cotton Tail himself to Bird Bingo, to Glow Golf, to Yoga With a View, to worshiping together as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. There is so much for everyone of all ages to do this week!
Easter-Themed Activities this Week |
Maundy Service | Thursday March 28th, 7:30 PM
All are welcome to join Reverend Lawton as he leads the Maundy Thursday service. Maundy Commemorates the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples. Jesus breaks bread, saying, "This is my body," and pours wine, saying, "This is my blood."
Easter Bonnet Contest |
Have your family create your very own custom Easter Bonnet at home. When you're done, bring your finished bonnet to the Recreation Office anytime on Friday, March 29th, before 8 PM. Ocean Lakes guests will vote on their favorite bonnet during the Easter Bunny Hop-In on Saturday morning. Winners will be announced Saturday afternoon. All winners are called and notified.
Easter Bunny Hop-in | Saturday March 30th 10 AM - 12 PM
Come get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny in the Recreation Center! We will provide a snack bag for all children ages 11 and under. Don't forget your camera to snap a picture with the Easter Bunny on stage. There will also be other fun activities, including candy guessing, voting for your favorite Easter Bonnet, Face Painting, a $5 Craft, and an Easter photo booth for the family.
Flower Eggs | Sunday March 31st, 10:30 AM - 11AM
Join our Naturalist at the Nature Center to learn about springtime and why flowers are so important while making a flower egg. $2 per child required at sign-up CASH ONLY.
Nature Egg Hunt | Sunday March 31st, 1 PM - 1:30 PM
Bring the family to the Nature Center and join our Naturalist on a fun, brain-teasing outdoor scavenger hunt. Prizes to the winning teams. No more than 6 people per team.
Eggsplore The Ocean Floor | Sunday March 31st, 2 PM - 3:30 PM
Drop by anytime between 2 PM – 3:30 PM to enjoy Ocean Lakes' very own unique "Under the Sea Easter" Egg hunt. Everyone's done the classic Easter Egg Hunt outside on the lawn, but have you ever done an "Under the Sea Egg" hunt? Come to the Recreation Building to swim through seagrass, weave past giant jellyfish, and sneak past sharks to find those eggs. This will be an Egg hunt you will never forget! Don't forget your Egg Basket and a camera to capture all the fun!
Sunrise Service | Sunday March 31st, 6:45 AM
Meet us at the 3 crosses on the beachfront to worship as the sun rises. In case of bad weather, service will be moved to the Recreation Building.
Worship Service | Sunday March 31st, 9:00 AM
Following the Sunrise Worship Service on the beachfront, join Reverend Lawton for a non-denominational Worship Service at 9 AM in the Recreation Center.
Spring Break Activities |
Music Bingo and Stupid Trivia | March 29th & April 4th, 6 PM - 7 PM
Join us in the Recreation Center for this fun, musical twist on the original bingo game we typically play. Snippets of songs in different categories will be played; you must match the song played with the song title on your bingo card. We will give a few hints along the way. In between rounds of music bingo, we will play 3 rounds of stupid trivia. There are 10 wacky, crazy questions in each round. NO cheating!
Magic Show | Saturday March 30th, 7 PM - 8 PM
Bring the whole family and enjoy a night of illusions by the Grand Strand Magic Club.
Spring Mason Jar Make & Take | March 27th & April 4th, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Come join us in the Recreation Center, Room C, to make your very own spring mason jar. Recommended for Ages 10 and up. We will provide all the materials necessary to paint and decorate your very own unique jar. The class begins at 2:30 PM. Please arrive on time, as our instructor will lead you through how to make the jar provided. No crafters accepted after 2:40 PM. Pay the instructor $5 per jar upon arriving to class.
Glow Vibe Golf | Friday April 5th, 5 PM - 8:30 PM
Come Join us in the Recreation Building for a fun-filled night with the family, brought to you by Glow Vibe Golf! It's a glow-in-the-dark mini-golf experience! Tickets can be purchased in the Recreation Office. Cost is $10 per person for ages 4 & up.
