Ocean Lakes Plunging Into 2019


On December 31, 2018, 575 guests took the plunge and became an Ocean Lakes Polar Bear! For the past 18 years, "happy campers" have joined at Ocean Lakes for our Winter tradition of participating in the Polar Bear Plunge. This year, the temperature was around 62 degrees and the water temperature was in the mid 50's.

Pre-Plunge Party | The 18th Annual Polar Bear Plunge kicked off at 1:30 PM on the beach by the Observation Deck. Guests were able to get pumped up with music and snap a photo with our polar bear mascot.


“We’re Freezin’ For A Reason” | The Plunge takes place December 31st every year - What a way to end the year! You can join this exclusive club by taking a dip in the Atlantic. It all began with three brave souls, and the numbers increase annually as brave guests take the plunge. From young to old, they always have a great time!

Participants are asked to bring two non-perishable canned items to help our friends at South Strand Helping Hand, which provides support and resources to the needy in our community.
Become An Ocean Lakes Polar Bear | There is a $7 yearly membership fee that includes entry into the Polar Bear Plunge, a T-shirt naming participant a “Polar Bear,” and bragging rights. This event is open only to guests staying at Ocean Lakes Family Campground.

Spring Into Easter | Easter Themed Activities

Spring has sprung here at Ocean Lakes, and it's just in time for all the Easter and spring break activities. We are so egg-cited, and we have so many fun activities planned, from having a hoppin' good time with Peter Cotton Tail himself to Bird Bingo, to Glow Golf, to Yoga With a View, to worshiping together as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. There is so much for everyone of all ages to do this week! Easter-Themed Activities this Week | Maundy Service | Thursday March 28th, 7:30 PM All are welcome to join Reverend Lawton as he leads the Maundy Thursday service. Maundy Commemorates the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples. Jesus breaks bread, saying, "This is my body," and pours wine, saying, "This is my blood." Easter Bonnet Contest | Have your family create your very own custom Easter Bonnet at home. An Ocean Lakes Maintenance Update With fall comes the start of lots of new projects! Our Team is already hard at work to make sure our guests have the best.  We are so excited for everyone to see all the improvements that will be happening around Ocean Lakes. Follow along to see just what our Maintenance Team is up to! I Bathhouse Family Addition | The famil y addition to the I Bathhouse is well underway! This new addition is expected to be done by the Easter Holiday. Raise The Roof |   The 2000's Bathhouse roofing update is complete! Thank you for your patience while our Team works hard to make sure we are in tip top shape. Paving The Way |  Shortly after the Thanksgiving Holiday our Maintenance Team will begin converting several sites to concrete pads.
