SURPRISE - Extra Halloweekend Added!

Oh, what a month it has been!
If only Halloweekends would soon begin.
Through all the devastation, the flooding is finally receding.
Hmm... What is that we are foreseeing?
An extra special Halloweekend treat?
Ah, yes! Four Halloweekends would make it complete!

Extra Halloweekend Added
Ocean Lakes Family Campground is excited to announce that we have added an additional Halloweekend this year, October 5th - October 6th. Due to the devastation in surrounding areas caused by Hurricane Florence and flooding, we wanted to add a little joy to our guests' stay by making every weekend in October a Halloweekend!

Schedule of Activities
This additional weekend will have a slightly different schedule than the already set Halloweekend dates. The schedule change is because of the last minute add, supplies not being here just yet, and the number of teammates staffed.

Friday, October 5th
7 PM - Halloween Bingo: 10 games of Halloween themed bingo fun. Play as many games as you like. 1 card per person. No fee.

Saturday, October 6th
9 AM - Pumpkin Carving/Painting/Decorating Contest: Drop off your carved/painted/decorated pumpkin (must be a real pumpkin) in Room A located in the Recreation Building. We will award prizes in each of the following categories: Most Unique, Funniest, Best Painted, Best Decorated, and Best Carving Skills. Winners will be posted on the Recreation Building Doors. We ask that you pick your pumpkin up between 7 PM and 9 PM Saturday night. No fee.

12 PM - Family Photo Booth: Throw on those awesome costumes and bring the family down to the Recreation Building to have your picture taken to make those memories truly last a lifetime. Pictures will be available between 12 PM and 3 PM on October 6th ONLY! No fee.

4:30 PM - Trick or Treating:
Treaters: If you want to hand out treats, please make sure to sign up in the Recreation Building prior to 2 PM on the day of. You will be given a distinctive Halloween sign to put up at your site. You can start handing out treats at 4:30 PM. Halloweekends bring out lots of witches, lions, scarecrows, and other characters for trick or treating each Saturday. Feel free to spend as much as you feel comfortable with on candy.

Trickers: Those wishing to go trick or treating around the campground, you can pick up the treat friendly site list at the Recreation Building at 4 PM, no sooner. No fee.

7:30 PM - Beachside Movie: Grab the whole family for a fun night under the stars. Bring your chairs, blankets, and snacks down to the basketball courts. We will be showing The Wizard of Oz. No fee.

Remember Family-Friendly
Our guests go all out with their Halloween decorations and costumes – We love that – Just remember that Halloweekends are focused on families. Be creative, keep it clean. Be scary, but not so much that you would make a little one cry.

Safety and Security Policies
Masks and face coverings are only permitted to be worn in Ocean Lakes for the four Halloweekends (on Fridays and Saturdays). They cannot be worn in our businesses (Sandy Mart, RV Center, Golf Cars, Main Office, Ocean Lakes Properties, Sandy Harbor) except during Trick or Treating on Saturdays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. They are generally permitted in the Recreation Center, as it is the hub of our Halloweekend events and costume contests.

Operating a vehicle or golf car with a mask or face covering is NOT permitted as it is a safety issue and also hinders Security in identifying underage drivers. Security Teammates will use discretion on a case by case basis as needed throughout Halloweekends regarding masks, coverings, costumes and decorations.

No Outside Characters Allowed
Our Halloweekend activities are only for guests staying at Ocean Lakes and our annual lease site holders.

We hope to see you all this coming weekend celebrating along with us for our very first Halloweekend kick-off! For more information on Halloweekends, check out our previous blog post and our website.
