Selecting the Perfect Campsite | Campground Conversations

This week, on Campground Conversations, we are speaking with Kellie, the Front Office Administrative Coordinator, on how our guests can choose the perfect campsite!

By providing a wide variety of camping options, our ultimate goal is to give each of our guests a vacation to remember!

Here is what Kellie had to say on choosing a campsite |

We have various campsites ranging from quaint and quiet to high traffic and high energy. There is a campsite here to fit everyone’s vacation dream!

A Little Info | Ocean Lakes is home to 859 transient campsites, and no two will give you the same experience. The campsites are large, pull-through sites along paved roads. Every site includes: 20-30-50 amp electric, water, sewer, 64-channel cable TV hookup, and a picnic table. Free Wi-Fi is available at all campsites, and our camping guests have options to upgrade their Wi-Fi to improve data speeds. Concrete pads are available on 649 plus campsites, with pad dimensions generally being 18′ W x 45’ L. Tent only camping is permitted on any site, when you do not utilize a camper.

So Many Options! | Guests have a variety of choices including oceanfront, lakeside, and shaded sites. When calling to make a campsite reservation, feel free to ask about the site details. Teammates are very helpful with describing how many feet the site is from the ocean, if a bath house is close, or if the site has a tree on it! You can view several site details during an online site search when in our online booking portal.

What Can We Accommodate? | Ocean Lakes is unique from many other campgrounds because it can accommodate the latest and largest luxury RVs, including the sprawling awnings and numerous slide-outs. Most campsites can accommodate up to a 40′ camper and two vehicles with room to spare! In fact, some of our sites can even accommodate the large 45′ RVs. Reservations can be made up to 18 months in advance with the required deposit by calling Camping Reservations at 877-510-1413.

360 Virtual Tour | View our 360 HD Virtual Video of each campsite! This video is linked from our online map and can be found on our YouTube Channel. On mobile with the YouTube App, you can turn 360 degrees around and see the sites beside you, look up, look down – See all around you on your mobile device.

Here’s A Tip | The 3000 and 4000 Sections are known to be less trafficked and less noisy. These campsites are located behind the oceanfront sites. This is where you will want to stay if you are looking for rest and relaxation.

All oceanfront sections (HH, H, I, and 2000 Sections) are high trafficked and high energy. Campers love to be social and conversate, and these sections are perfect for those individuals. Oceanfront campers will experience a more busy and lively vacation. Guests who choose one of these sites will be steps from the ocean and have a front row seat to our nightly golf car parade in the summertime.

Regardless of your campsite preference or selection, you are guaranteed a great beach vacation where memories made will last a lifetime!

Know Your Season | Please keep in mind, the season that you choose to visit Ocean Lakes plays a role in your camping experience. Our peak season is Memorial Day to Labor Day, as this is the most popular time to visit the beach. Our off season is, for the most part, during the Fall and Winter months. These are the months you will want to visit Ocean Lakes if you wish to avoid the heavy traffic, long lines, and crowds.
