Guest-Favorite Activities | Summertime at Ocean Lakes

We like to have fun, but we LOVE when our guests have fun! Our Recreation Team works year-round to provide and host fun activities and events for our guests. They do their research and even test out the activities for themselves! We take note of what our guests thoroughly enjoy each year, and there are a few activities that stand out above the rest. 

But first – We are adding new activities to the calendar this Summer |

New Show - Bryan Dangerous | Tuesday nights throughout Summer, join us in the Recreation Center for a Comedy Juggling Act filled with lots of laughs and audience interaction with Bryan Dangerous!

New – Music Bingo and Stupid Trivia | Everyone will get a piece of paper with song titles as the Bingo Card. We will play a clip from a song and participants will have to guess what the song title is to mark on their Bingo Card. We will give clues and each round is categorized. 

Stupid Trivia will have different categories for each different round with 10 questions per round. 

Guests will play one game of Bingo then a game of Stupid Trivia (3 rounds of Bingo and 3 rounds of Stupid Trivia). This will be every Thursday night throughout Summer in the Recreation Center.

Now on to the guest favorite activities! Let’s see if your favorite activity made the list | 

Minute To Win It | Our guests laugh so hard until their abs are sore the next day! Guests are welcome to come out to the Recreation Center to watch the Ocean Lakes version of Minute To Win It. For those looking to participate, there will be a sign-up sheet for groups of 4 in the Recreation Office. Space is limited to 12 teams. There are 10 – 12 teams each week that participate! Prizes are awarded to winners. No fee.

Water Aerobics | All guests who can comfortably touch the bottom of the pool are welcome to join our qualified instructor at the Indoor Pool for a class of aerobic conditioning, toning, exercises, and movement. Join us at the Indoor Pool, Monday through Friday at 8 AM. No fee.

Corn Toss Tournament | Ages 12 and up are welcome to join us at the beachfront, beside the Horseshoe Pits, to play this popular tailgating game. On average, there are 25 – 30 teams each day. Prizes are awarded to winners. No fee.

Kids Kamp | This is open to guests ages 4 – 11 and they must be potty trained. There are around 25 spots each Monday – Friday throughout Summer for 3 hours of games, snacks, and fun! The daily session runs from 9 AM to 12 PM in the Recreation Center, and each child will receive a Kamp Souvenir. The cost for 5 days is $40 or $10 per day. 

Kids Night Out | This activity is every Tuesday and Thursday night at 5:30 PM and is open to guests ages 4 – 11 and they must be potty trained (NO EXCEPTIONS). Need a date night? Have your children join us from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM for pizza, games, and loads of fun. Space is limited to 25 children. You must sign up in the Recreation Office by 3 PM the day of the event. The cost is $20 per child.

Adult and Jr/Tween Mini Golf Tournament | Ages 15 and up are welcome to come out for some friendly competition. Meet at the Sandy Harbor Mini Golf Course located between the Indoor Pool and Outdoor Pool. On average, our Recreation Team hosts 40 competitors, 3 days a week with top scores landing around 26 to 30! That is a lot of hole-in-ones! Prizes are awarded to winners. No fee.

Family Ceramics | All ages are welcome. Class will be open Monday – Friday from 9 AM – 1 PM. Please make sure to arrive before 10 AM in order to have time to paint. There is a daily supply fee of $1.50 plus the cost of the item chosen to paint. We have a wide variety to choose from. Completed items will be ready to pick up the following day (weather permitting). Held in the Recreation Center, Room C. 

This crafty class averages 70 – 80 pieces painted and sprayed by our Team 5 days a week. In previous years, that is an average of 140 – 150 pieces per day throughout Summer!

Bingo | Join us in the Recreation Center for 20 games of Bingo! Limit 1 Bingo Card per person. On average, our Recreation Hall sees 500 – 600 guests participate every Monday and Wednesday nights at 8 PM for Bingo. Various prizes are awarded for each game. No fee.

Tie Dye Wednesday | This has become our number one guest-favorite activity! Guests can purchase their very own unique Ocean Lakes T-Shirt to tie dye in the Recreation Center. The deadline to sign-up is 12 PM the day of the event. Space is limited and spots fill up quickly, so we recommend signing up in advance. Due to the popularity of this event, when you sign-up, we will designate a specific time to tie dye your t-shirt. T-shirt sizes are reserved on a first come, fist serve basis. We have 18M, T3, T5, Youth XS – Youth Large, and Adult S – Adult 3XL. The cost is $15 per t-shirt and $18 for Adult 2XL and 3XL.
