Unveiling the Golden Golf Car | 50 Golden Years of Ocean Lakes

Turning the big 5-0 is a milestone that Ocean Lakes is beyond excited to celebrate with all of our Guests and Annual Lease Site Holders. After all, we would not be where we are today without each of you! We knew we wanted to celebrate in a big way, thus a golden vision was born.


Where It All Began | In 1996, our team adopted the service theme, “Creating Family Memories that Last a Lifetime!” We have made it our team goal to create a campground environment perfect for relaxing with loved ones and friends, for setting the stage to create amazing memories. 2021 is not only about telling our story. It is about YOU telling YOUR STORY! From this, the Golden Golf Car Contest began. We asked guests to share their stories, pictures, and videos with us. And on our birthday, one lucky individual will win the Golden Golf Car (and when we say Golden Golf Car, we truly mean GOLDEN)!


While the Marketing Team got to work on creating the contest and spreading the word, a golf car needed to be built. This is where Ocean Lakes Golf Cars comes in. 

The Journey | We asked the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Manager, Clarence Monday, how the design process began:
“The designing and planning phase for this spectacular, one-of-a-kind golf car, started six months ago. The paint scheme came from a retro helmet provided by Kevin McWhirter, Ocean Lakes’ Operations Manager. The picture of that helmet was given to a painter who used real gold metallic, meadow flake paint that was commonly used in the 70’s.

  You will not find another one of these – It even has Sandy on the front!” 


Building Much More Than A Golf Car | Our General Manager/Vice President, Greg Bender, discussed the excitement we are all feeling and the special features:
“Ocean Lakes is excited to be giving away a custom-built 2020 Club Car to one lucky Guest or Annual Lease Site Holder on July 2nd. What a way to celebrate our 50th Birthday! The Golden Golf Car was customized with a 6” lift kit, custom wheels, custom premium white and gold seats, a Bluetooth sound bar, head and taillights, folding windshield, mirrors, USB port, and a rear storage bucket. This unique golf car is custom painted with a gold metal flake paint and has premium seating with diamond tuck gold stitching. 

I want to thank our Marketing and Ocean Lakes Golf Cars teams for the design, as well as the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Custom Build Shop for building this one-of-a-kind golf car and bringing it to fruition. We truly have a remarkable and talented team.”
 





See It To Believe It | The Golden Golf Car will be on display in Ocean Lakes Golf Cars beginning on Monday, June 28th. Please be mindful – We ask that guests do not sit on the golf car; however, everyone is welcome to take pictures.
