Welcoming Spring with an Ocean Lakes Maintenance Update

The birds are chirping, many are breaking out the flip flops, and our Mama and Daddy Swans have built a new nest and begun laying eggs… Spring has officially arrived at Ocean Lakes!

With the arrival of Spring, there are more happy campers in the campground, and our hearts are so thrilled! As you all know, our team spent the “down time” completing projects throughout the campground preparing for a new season. Spring may be here, but the team has not slowed down on the projects. 

Follow Along for an Update on all Things Maintenance in the Campground | 

Splish, Splash – We are in Preparation Mode at SHWP | Once Sandy Harbor Water Park opens for the season, it is all fun in the sun in the campground. What guests do not see is all the preparation that goes on behind the scenes. Our team is working diligently to complete the necessary and required maintenance to the water park. 



This week, we are focusing on buffing the slides and painting the racks for the mats! We have purchased 180 new lounge chairs, as well as 2 new large umbrellas. Start preparing for pool days at Ocean Lakes because we are almost ready for you!



Fun Fact: There are 577 lounge chairs, 122 regular chairs, and 17 tables located inside Sandy Harbor Water Park.


A Soft Opening with Lots of Wagging Tails | After completion of the Lakeside Paws N’ Play and Sandy’s Wash N’ Wag, our team decided to have a soft opening on March 7th. This allowed us to closely monitor the two new amenities without large crowds to ensure we had “thought of everything” before the busy summer season. 

Play Time Hours: 
In-Season (April 1 - Labor Day): 7 AM - 8 PM
Off-Season (Post Labor Day - March 31): 8 AM - 5 PM






Our four-legged guests have been loving the fun and the freedom, and we have been enjoying watching them run, play, and make new friends! 



We will be holding a Grand Opening that will span over the course of 3 days and of course there will be giveaways for your furry family members. The fun begins March 29th, and we cannot wait to showcase our new amenities.

Sprucin’ up the South Gate | The South Gate has become a popular entrance into the campground; therefore, we deemed it time to update the lighting, signage, and cosmetics. 




We have removed the old wooden siding and replaced it with hardy board and batten siding. We added the split block base to dress it up and to match the Main Gate.



Lookin’ Good, Ocean Lakes Properties | Ocean Lakes Properties recently underwent a renovation and the process lasted about 3 weeks. The interior was painted, new floors were put in, new artwork was hung, and a few new furniture pieces have been added.

Painting the Town Red…. Or Something Like That | No, we are not painting anything red, but it caught your attention, right? However, there has been painting being done!

We have been completing cosmetic upgrades to the roads, as well as road striping and markings. The roads look fresher than ever and are ready to welcome guests into the campground!


Beach Access E Upgrades | Due to rot and warp, the beach access plank boards were removed and replaced. Beach Access E is now open and ready for easy access to that beautiful stretch of sand!
