Getting Crafty in March | Ocean Lakes Activities

March has arrived with warm weather, lots of pollen, and even more activities being offered in the Recreation Center! This month, we are hosting many activities for guests that involve them channeling their inner crafter!

So, throw the glitter in the air and let’s craft the stress away at everyone’s happy place!


Canvas Painting | March 10th and 20th | 3 PM – 5 PM | Recreation Center, Room A |

Join us in the Recreation Center for Canvas Painting! This class is perfect for beginners or anyone who loves painting. You are welcome to bring snacks with you to nibble on while you paint. Once completed, you get to take home a beautiful masterpiece to remember your trip to the beach for years to come. 

Cost: $20 per person; you will pay the instructor at the time of the class. Supplies and instructions are included in the cost.

DIY Tie Dye | Monday – Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM, Sunday: 12 PM – 6 PM | Cancelled: March 18th, 29th, 30th, 31st |

Visit the Recreation Office during the times allotted each day to buy your white, pre-soaked 2022 Ocean Lakes T-Shirt to tie and dye all by yourself. We will have a station set up with all the materials necessary for you to tie and dye shirts. There will be printed guidance to help you through the process, but please note, there will not be any teammate available to assist. 


Cost:
3T – XL -> $15 
2XL – 3 XL -> $18 

Sizes Remaining: 3T, Youth Large, Adult Small, and Adult 3XL.

Note: The dye is for Ocean Lakes T-Shirts only; other items may not be brought into dye.


Essential Oil Make & Take | March 9th and 16th | 1 PM – 2 PM | Recreation Center, Room A |

Join Mrs. Allen in the Recreation Center to learn how to make your own essential oil products, including sugar scrubs, room sprays, or roller bottle blends. You will learn how they may help your health. Keep them for yourself or share them with your loved ones. 

Cost: $5 and up to cover supplies.

Note: Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Ceramics | Start: 10 AM, Not Allowed After 12 PM, End: 2 PM | Recreation Center, Room C | 

This family-friendly activity has become a fun tradition for all guests! You will be able to paint, dry, gloss, dry, and take your ceramic with you the same day. Please be sure to arrive to class on time. All seats typically fill up as soon as class opens. There is a wide variety of ceramics to choose from. 

Cost: All ceramics range from $2.00 up to $40.00, depending on the item you choose.

Note: All ages welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.


NEW - Nailed It | March 15th | 3 PM – 5 PM | Recreation Center, Room A |
The St. Patrick’s fun will be hosted by Julie from the Nailed It DIY Studio. This workshop will walk you through making your own 18” St. Patrick’s Day Plank. If you do not sign-up, we may take a few walk-ins, but there is no guarantee.  

Cost: $20 per project.

Sign-Up: Scan the QR Code posted in the Recreation Center by 12 PM on March 14th. 

Note: Limit is 30 people.


Rock N Roots Workshop | March 13th | 4 PM – 5:30 PM | Recreation Center, Room A |

Join us for a fun workshop hosted by Rock N Roots Plant Co. This class is open to all campers and will provide necessary materials to teach and walk you through making your very own Succulent. 

Cost: Check with the Recreation Office.
