Frequently Asked Facebook Questions | Ocean Lakes Edition

We receive many messages on Facebook daily – Individuals needing information or wanting to get in touch with a teammate. Over the years, our official Facebook page has grown tremendously, has become a trusted source for everything Ocean Lakes, and our Guests and Leaseholders have learned that it is a pretty quick way to get an answer.

Search Feature – 24/7 | We want everyone to know that we LOVE communicating with you, and we are always ready to help. At the click of a button and with a little bit of reading, most frequently asked questions can be answered by simply visiting our website. And, if you are struggling with finding the right webpage, all you have to do is type your keywords into the Search Box.

We have compiled a list of the top ten frequently asked questions on our official Facebook page! We are a big campground with lots going on every day of the year, so we understand things can get overwhelming and you just want a simple answer.

Top Ten Frequently Asked Questions |

1. Can I Check-In early?
  • Check-In for Camping Reservations is 3 PM.
  • Check-In for Beach House Rentals through Ocean Lakes Properties (OLP) is 4 PM.
  • Check-In varies for Beach House Rentals booked Privately (not through Ocean Lakes Properties).
An early Check-In cannot be guaranteed; but may be possible, if the site is empty/clean/ready, then you are welcome to Check-In early. We do not check to see if sites are ready. Our Storage Drivers and Security Teammates will alert the Main Office if a guest has not checked out by the Check-Out time.

Please respect our departing guests - We ask that guests not arrive early and watch while guests are packing up and checking out. Check-Out is 10 AM for OLP Reservations and 11 AM for Campsite Reservations.

2. Will the Water Park be open during my stay?

Maybe! The Water Park schedule is always on our website. Check here: www.oceanlakes.com/amenities/sandy-harbor-family-fun-center/pools/

Keep in mind that opening and operating the Water Park heavily depends on Lifeguard availability. By law, we must have a certain number of Lifeguards working to open the Water Park. Safety is always a priority. If we can open it before the official summer opening (Memorial Day Weekend), we absolutely will. Since we cannot guarantee that opening, we do not advertise or verify ahead of time.

3. Can I make a reservation?

You most certainly can via phone or on our websites! Just not through our Facebook page. The Marketing Team oversees the official social media channels and that is who you are chatting with. They do not have access to the reservation system; therefore, they cannot create/modify/cancel reservations.
4. When will I receive my Express Check-In packet?
Campsites: First things first, your balance must be paid and you must provide all  vehicle information. If you do so more than 30 days prior to your arrival, you will receive your Express Check-In Packet an estimated 30 days prior to your arrival. If only 14 days prior to your arrival, we will mail the Express Check-In Packet right away. Less than 14 days, the packet will be at the Main Gate for your arrival. Less than 2 days prior to your arrival, you must come inside the Main Office. So do not delay!

Ocean Lakes Properties: Reservations must be paid in full 30 days prior to your arrival, then we will mail your car passes to you. You will still need to stop by Ocean Lakes Properties to receive the keys to the beach house rental.

Beach Houses Booked Privately: The same policy as Campsites applies to these types of reservations. However, it all depends on when the Leaseholder inputs your information into the system. You will need to verify this with who you are renting from.

5. Can I bring a float to the Outdoor Pool?
No, we do not allow floats in the Outdoor Pool. There are no exceptions. Young children are permitted to wear Coast Guard approved vests.

6. What amenities do you offer?
There are so many! Visit our website to view all of them along with their hours and additional information: www.oceanlakes.com/amenities/

7. What activities will be going on during my stay?
There is always lots going on in the campground! Pick up an Activities Calendar in the Recreation Office, Main Office, Ocean Lakes Properties, or Ocean Lakes Golf Cars.

If you are trying to plan ahead, visit our Activities Calendar on our website: www.oceanlakes.com/things-to-do/calendar/

8. There is a dog barking loudly next to me. Can you do something?
We ask that you call Security at 843-828-4847. Our Security is 24/7, and while these highly trained teammates are constantly patrolling the entire campground, they cannot be everywhere at all times. Simply give us a call and we will be happy to check in and address any issue.

9. The fireworks are upsetting my dog and me. Can you do something?
Fireworks are not allowed inside the campground. However, the fireworks that you hear are more than likely going off on the beach. The beach is outside of our jurisdiction, which means we cannot address or enforce any rules or laws for those on the beach.

Horry County’s policy on fireworks states, “Fireworks are prohibited on the beach and oceanfront properties that have been deemed and posted as a Firework Prohibited Zone.” This means that they are allowed on the beach; however, not during Quiet Hours. Horry County’s Quiet Hours are 11 PM – 7 AM.

10. Can I reserve a golf car in advance?
No, we do not allow golf cars to be rented in advance. You are welcome to head on over to Ocean Lakes Golf Cars to rent a golf car upon your arrival. The only time of year that we might have to put you on a waitlist would be around the week of July 4th. The waitlist does move pretty quickly, though.
