New And Improved | An Ocean Lakes Update

If you have been reading our blog for the past month and keeping up with us, you are aware of the Maintenance Projects we have been completing throughout the campground due to our “down” time. Well, the exciting project news continues today with a new Project Update!

But first, let’s recap what projects we have accomplished in the last month:

Project Update 1 Recap | During our first Maintenance Update, we informed you that the Ocean Lakes Teammates have been leveling campsites, replacing meter bases for our Annual Lease Site Holders, painting pedestrian crosswalks, handicap accessible parking spots, and parking spot lines at the beachfront, and painting in the Recreation Center. Read our previous blog to learn more on these projects: https://bit.ly/2K3LN2o.

Project Update 2 Recap | During our second Maintenance Update, we informed you that the Ocean Lakes Teammates have been hydroseeding campsites, replacing ParkMate Boxes, seal coating the Main Entrance, and painting the Recreation Center, as well as the Ocean Lakes RV Center. Read our previous blog to learn more on these projects: https://bit.ly/2KdeLNC.

Project Update 3 Recap | During our third Maintenance Update, we informed you that the Ocean Lakes Teammates have been mowing and reorganizing the Storage Lot area, replacing ceiling tiles in the Recreation Center, giving Family Ceramics a deep clean, and painting the stripes and bumpers in the parking lot around the Main Office. Now, let’s dive into the latest Project Update:

Out With The Old, In With The New | Santee Cooper periodically checks the electric polls throughout the campground for their dates and tests them. If they test negative, then they are marked old and they replace them. Last week came the time to replace the electric pole in the 4000 Section. This is also seen as a precautionary measure to reduce the chances of losing power during storm season.

Water Meter Replacements | We are replacing half of our Water Meters this year, and the other half at a later time. We are replacing the older analog versions with an upgraded digital version. Eventually, this will help alleviate the time it takes with reading each Water Meter each month.

Bring On The Rain (Or Not) | We installed a new Irrigation System parallel to Hwy 17 near the North Gate that was completed this past Friday. With this project, our goal is to make the front of Ocean Lakes more appealing, as well as enabling us to get a better handle on the grass.

View Ocean Lakes | You are going to LOVE this new upgrade! We have replaced our old webcams for the oceanfront and the Sandy Harbor Water Park Tower. Head over to our website to view your home away from home anytime and from wherever you are: https://www.oceanlakes.com/webcams/.

Until Next Time | Stay tuned for tomorrow’s video, which will highlight these three projects and our Teammates completing them.

We sure do miss each of you, and we cannot wait to see your smiling faces making memories that will last a lifetime in the campground. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and our Teammates. We are here virtually, everyday!

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay hopeful.
