Here is to Growth in the New Year | An Ocean Lakes Announcement

It is no surprise that Ocean Lakes Family Campground will be celebrating 50 years of business on July 2nd, 2021! However, what is a surprise is that… We are kicking off our celebrations with a Main Office renovation and expansion! 

Wait for it… Here is Another Surprise | Along with a Main Office renovation, we are adding a new addition to the building. A new Mail and Package Area for Annual Leaseholders will be added to the East side of the Compliance Office.

Greetings from Greg | The Assistant General Manager, Greg Bender, excitedly commented on the renovation and expansion: 

“During the last ten years or so, the Main Office building has been added onto multiple times to assist with additional Teammates in Reservations, Human Resources, Administration, and training areas. This new renovation is really going to be exciting for our guests, as well as our Teammates. This will give us the opportunity to give our guests a more personal and comfortable experience when checking into Ocean Lakes. Due to the amount of packages and mail delivered daily, we are having to expand this area to ensure all packages and mail are distributed efficiently. Between some new technology and software upgrades to our system, this will give us the ability to improve on our overall Check-In process. With the number of guests and visitors increasing every year in Ocean Lakes, we felt it was time to explore the entire guest/visitor Check-In process in order to increase all operational efficiencies and the overall look and feel of the Main Office. At the end of the day, we want everyone to feel welcome, and we want to provide the best overall vacation destination and experience possible for our guests.”

Sneak Peek with Shannon | We reached out to the Main Office Manager, Shannon Detzler, to discuss how this will benefit guests and Teammates. Here is what she had to say:

“We are very excited to renovate the Main Office and create a welcoming environment for our guests and their families. There will be a new gift shop and seating area for guests while they wait to Check-In. These enhancements will make it more hospitable for families upon their arrival. It is important that as we make technology upgrades and advance our operations that we also keep up, aesthetically. We cannot wait to welcome you to our new Registration Area in 2021!”

The Excitement is “Building” | Construction is expected to begin this month, November 2020, and the anticipated completion date will be before Easter, April 2021. The Operations Manager, Kevin McWhirter, explained the construction process and how the Main Office area will be affected during this renovation and expansion:

“We welcome all guests to be a part of the excitement while we create a whole new look! We are fortunate to have the best Ocean Lakes Teammates and team of contractors on hand to make this all happen. With our limited space and our operational demands, we will temporarily relocate some of our Teammates and Main Office operations. Some building material and contractor staging congestion is to be expected during the demolition and delivery phases of this project. We have our Ocean Lakes Team ready and willing to help to maintain a smooth traffic flow though the Main Entrance and canopy Check-In areas. We do ask that all please pardon our dust, congestion, and appearance during these exciting Main Office renovations.”

Here is the Plan | During construction, a mobile unit (or as we like to call it, Sandy Island) will be placed under the canopy of the Main Office for direct guest service. A Teammate will be stationed in the mobile unit beginning Monday, November 30th during our normal Main Office hours, 8 AM – 6 PM, to assist you. 

The Mail Center and Information Desk will temporarily be relocated to the Ocean Lakes Training Room at the East end of the Main Office. You may pick up your mail and packages there. Simply enter and exit the last door on the East side of the building. Guests will be able to pick up their mail between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM. A Teammate will be in this temporary Mail Center/Information Desk to assist you.
