Everyone likes to ride around in style, especially at their happy place, Ocean Lakes! Overtime, golf cars have become the main source of transportation in the campground. In 2019, Ocean Lakes Golf Cars expanded by adding a 12,000 square foot production facility across the street behind Ocean Lakes Village. Then, in 2020, they expanded their rental fleet to 1,000 golf cars.

Behind-The-Scenes | The Marketing Team recently visited the offsite Production Facility to witness the building process with Jeff, a Golf Car Technician. He walked us through each step and the final product was quite something!
Let’s learn how the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Teammates build a custom-built golf car at the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Production Facility:
Step 1 | They start by tearing down an old rental golf car to the frame, wash the frame, and then paint it.

Step 1
|
Step 2 | Next, a 6-inch lift is put on.

Step 3 | Then, they pull the motor off of the rear end and clean the motor up. They put it back together and paint the read end.

Step 4 | Reuse some of the body parts like the front end, the wire and harnesses, motor, and computer. Everything else is brand new, such as the dual USB, battery meter, speed sensor, key switch, wire and harness for the lights, and the new LED headlights and taillights.

Step 5 | Depending on the custom build, our Team has factory bodies we use from Club Car, as well as some custom painted bodies. Ocean Lakes Golf Cars has a variety of wheels, which they choose which ones look best with the design and body.

Step 6 | Next, they start putting everything back together. First, the body, then the battery back-up, they wire everything up, and the new batteries go in. Next, they reassemble the back with the new electronics, wire and harness, key switch, lights, seats, rear seat kit. Then, the top bars go on, the top goes on, the windshield, and then the side mirrors.
