Beach, Beach – Let’s Get Away With OLP | Campground Conversations

Welcome back to Campground Conversations! We are excited to bring you a new topic this week with lots of helpful information. Let’s get the conversation started!

This week, on Campground Conversations, we are talking all about Ocean Lakes Properties! Meet Jaclyn Pigate from Ocean Lakes Properties Sales and Rentals – She is joining the conversation this week.


First Off, Let Me Say | Ocean Lakes Family Campground is our name and camping is our game, BUT did you know that we have beach house rentals, too?! It is true! There are around 2,569 beach houses in Ocean Lakes! Located inside our campground is Ocean Lakes Properties, which rents more than 250 of those beach houses. Ocean Lakes Properties is the official rental company for Ocean Lakes Family Campground and is the only rental company 100% backed by the campground.

Now we can dive on in – Here is what Jaclyn had to say on the basic, helpful information on Ocean Lakes Properties |

The 411 On OLP | Rental units are located throughout Ocean Lakes Family Campground and the prices vary depending on unit type, size, location, level rating, and attractive features. All of our houses are privately owned and vary in design and floor plan. There are one- or two-story beach houses on stilts. Some houses are built from a trailer with the trailer no longer evident, some are double-wide mobile homes. Ocean Lakes Properties also features ground level houses, park model trailers and trailers with additions.


Each rental unit is fully furnished including air-conditioning, TV with extended cable, and complete kitchen facilities. You need only bring sheets, towels (unless you choose our affordable linen rentals) and paper products. Rental Linen Packages are available at an additional cost (advance notice required).



Keep In Mind |

-       May 30 – August 15, 2020, we will rent only by the week (Saturday – Saturday).
-       The week of July 4th (June 27 – July 4, 2020) will be $100 more than the listed gross rental amount.
-       Rental reservations for 2021 begin on November 2, 2020.

Weekly Reservations | Weekly reservations begin at 4 PM Saturday and end at 10 AM the following Saturday (during summer months).  Any deviation from the Saturday-to-Saturday or Sunday-to-Sunday check-in and checkout dates can ONLY be made on a last-minute basis and are subject to availability of inventory. Ocean Lakes Properties will announce via their Facebook page when less than weekly rentals can be reserved.


Check-In | Check-in is on Saturday (during the summer) and it BEGINS at 4 PM.  Please plan your arrival according to the hours of check-in. We CANNOT guarantee accommodations before the stated check-in hours. Stop at the Ocean Lakes Properties Office to register and receive 2 keys and vehicle passes. All final payments must be PAID IN FULL 30 days prior to check-in date (except for last minute reservations). Personal checks are NOT accepted less than 30 days prior to arrival or for last minute reservations. We ask that you please have your car license tag number with you when checking in. Accommodations are strictly limited to the number of occupants shown on the rental listing regardless of beds available. The only exception is children 3 years of age and under.



Check Out | Check out is by 10 AM - No exceptions! A $50 per hour late charge will be charged for late departures. You are paying for the cleaning service; therefore, all you need to do is your dishes and take out the trash. If departing before or after our regular office hours, please place both sets of keys in the Key Drop Box located on the deck of the Ocean Lakes Properties Office. Do NOT leave your keys at the Main Office or Main Gate.

Cancellation Policy | If your reservation is cancelled 30 days prior to your arrival date, Ocean Lakes Properties will retain 15% of the Gross Rental Fee, plus the $58 Administration/Parking Pass Fee from amount paid, and the Accidental Damage Waiver Fee of $30 will be returned in full. The balance, if any, will be refunded to you.

If you cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to your arrival date, refuse rental property, or do not show up, Ocean Lakes Properties will retain the total amount paid, including the $58 Administration/Parking Pass Fee and the $30 Accidental Damage Waiver Fee. No money will be refunded.

Get Insured | We strongly suggest you consider purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen events that could cause you to cancel or interrupt your stay.

Travel Protection is available for your reservation from Nationwide Insurance Co. Travel Insurance reimburses for pre-paid, non-refundable expenses due to certain unforeseeable circumstances that may jeopardize your vacation investment and force you to incur unplanned expenses. We strongly recommend you purchase this valuable protection. If declined, you acknowledge you have read and understand our cancellation policy and choose not to purchase Vacation Rental Insurance on behalf of all occupants.

Side Note | Below are a few commonly asked questions – Give them a read!

-       There will be a $35 charge for all returned checks. Ocean Lakes Properties reserves the right to discontinue occupancy, if, in Ocean Lakes Properties opinion, it is detrimental to premises.
-       Pets are NOT allowed in any of our rental units. The only exception is a certified service animal.
-       Golf cars do not come with any of our houses. Golf cars can be rented through Ocean Lakes Golf Cars upon arrival.
-       2 vehicle passes are included with every reservation.
-       24/7 On-Call Maintenance and OLP Staff Member for emergencies.
-    Annual lease sites may or may not include Wi-Fi depending on each Annual Lease Site Holder’s internet contract with Spectrum. Ocean Lakes Properties can assist in identifying their rental sites with Wi-Fi.

Be Safe, Be Smart | Criminals do not take a vacation, but they sure look for someone who is planning one. The best example of this would be when individuals try to privately rent a beach house in Ocean Lakes through social media. I recommend not posting in groups or on other pages on Facebook with dates you are looking for a beach house - “ISO”. You are opening yourself up and inviting scammers in because you do not know the source that is contacting you. They can easily steal pictures of a site (even the Annual Lease Site Holder’s name) and “pull one over on you.” Sadly, that is the virtual world we live in and we have seen it happen.


While we allow guests to rent privately, we always strongly encourage guests to rent through Ocean Lakes Properties. That is the only 100% scam free guarantee you will find. Ocean Lakes Family Campground does not have anything to do with the private contract and transaction between a private renter and a guest.

Whatever route you choose, just be safe and be smart. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
